How can we balance the quality of life and environment today? A Documentary on the importance of Permaculture in today’s world. Why Is It Important? What if the revolution took inspiration from nature ?
The term initially meant ‘permanent agriculture’, however it evolved to also represent ‘permanent culture’ – The awakening of the modern human soul.
Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple – Bill Mollison
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is working in conjunction with nature, not against it. It is the local production of all the materials each person needs, such as food, shelter and fuel. Its use of the land is the opposite of a monoculture, which is the hallmark of the harmful industrial-agriculture model. Instead it’s a polyculture, where a diverse range of vegetation and animals are utilised to support each other into abundance.

It is a necessary documentary, important for what it reveals about ourselves, irresponsible consumers, and the proposed solutions. The documentary insists on the fact that each individual can decide to act on his environment for a better world.
The aim is to create systems that are ecologically-sound and economically viable, which provide for their own needs, do not exploit or pollute, and are therefore sustainable in the long term – Bill Mollison
The industrial agriculture of today is based on heavy oil powered machines, chemical pesticides and fertilizers such as phosphorus and potash, all finite resources that will become scarce the next decades. All the while, harming soil quality, water streams, biodiversity and climate.
Today a few people in the countryside produce the food for everybody in the cities who have lost their connection to the land. There is a better way: Permaculture produces 3 to 4 times as much as industrial agriculture, GMO’s. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Urban Agriculture and Permaculture are the future – and not to mention beautiful.
One of the most impressive and intelligent films on permaculture, regenerative agriculture and urban agriculture; Permaculture is the creation of ecosystems that – without the external input of water, nutrients or energy – offer a sustainable habitat for humans and animals. It is the practice of combining trees, bushes and vegetables in such a way that a greater variety of biodiversity is created that is self-sustaining.
