The 4th edition of Tastes & Talks kicked off with the celebration of International Year of Millet on International Day of Biodiversity at Alliance Française of Hyderabad, along with IIHM Hyderabad and Chef Amey Marathe.
A special talk featured Joanna Kane-Potaka, Deputy Director General for Strategy at the International Rice Research Institute, and author of “The Millet movement in India”. She focuses on driving demand for smarter foods to reach the SDG’s and climate target. She worked at ICRISAT, Hyderabad as a marketing director, executive director and assistant DG from 2012 to 2021.
She joined us online and had super insightful and engaging discussion around millets production and consumption. Joanna added a new dimension to the Millet-Fashion food, highlighting their environmental and health benefits.
The guest of honour, Harish Ramnani, Director of Karachi Bakery, and alumna of Le Cordon Bleu, shared his millet journey.
On the occasion the brand-new T&T logo and social media page were unveiled by Chef Amey Marathe, Earnest Immanuel, Director of IIHM Hyderabad, and Dr. Samuel Berthet, Director of AFH.
Following the talks, a tasting session with millet-based dishes like millet cookies from 45th avenue of Karachi Bakery and special millet dishes from IIHM and Chef Amey.
