The Alliance Française de Hyderabad presents a Photo Exibition and Documentary Screening

Paris, la Métisse (Multicultural Paris)

By Florence Batarière & Morgan Haël Jypsian

On view from 21 – 31 May at Kalakriti Art Gallery

ALL ARE WELCOME – Opening on 21st May, 7pm followed by the screening of a documentary « Sur les toits de Paris » (On the rooftops of Paris)

“Paris, la Métisse” unfolds the cultural diversity of the French capital. “Métisse” comes from the Latin word “mixtus” which means mélange/mixture.

When a man/woman leaves his country for another in search of a better living (for work, for education or as a refugee) he carries with him a part of his culture. A mélange of all the cultures brought into the city by immigrants makes Paris a multicultural city.

All the photos are in black and white and are taken in various parts of Paris. A documentary film festival of Paris complements the exbition.
