After the overwhelming response to the screening, Hindi book (translation) launch and the lively discussion which had Marjane Satrapi herself in attendance on the 11th of June, Persepolis will be back to enthrall you on the 16th of June at 6.30pm IST for a bonus screening. The movie is in French with English subtitles.

For the uninitiated, Persepolis is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi. In powerful black-and-white comic strip images, Satrapi tells the story of her life in Tehran from ages six to fourteen. In this story, Marji goes through revolutions, war, mourning, exile and depression, but along the way, learns more about life, puberty and first love.

Persepolis has been adapted into an animated film and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival 2007. The book is now published in Hindi by Vani Prakashan and is available in the Indian market.
