SOLO (2013)

by Christophe OFFENSTEIN

Yann Kermadec, ambitious skipper, finally touches his dream. He is allowed to start the Vendée Globe (a sailing race around the world) when his friend Franck Drevil is forced to give up. Everything is going very well: he even manages to reach second place. He is in a good position to win this legendary race when he discovers the presence on board of the young Mano Ixa, a clandestine immigrant who wants to travel to Brazil. For Yann, it’s a disaster. He is then obliged to cohabit with his passenger and to divert himself.

“Solo” shows that the human being is worth more than a victory, and that when you have heart, you can succeed on both counts. The spectator is totally
immersed in the adventure of the central character, vibrating on more or less calm seas.
