E-TEF

Issued since 1998 by the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI, PARIS), the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) is an international test designed to assess and certify a person’s level of proficiency in French. It is recognized by educational institutions, employers, and immigration authorities, especially in Canada and Québec.

• Purpose: Measures proficiency in French for studies, work, or immigration (notably for Express Entry and Québec immigration programs).

• Format: Entirely online, taken on a computer in approved testing centers like AF Hyderabad

• Skills Assessed: Reading comprehension, Listening comprehension, Written expression, Oral expression, Vocabulary and grammar

• Scoring: Results are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).

• The TEF provides certification valid for two years from the date the test is taken.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

• The candidate must be at least 16 years old.

• AF Hyderabad is the officially recognized TEF exam centre for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

• No prior diploma is required to register for the exam.

• Exam slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Once a slot is allocated, it cannot be transferred to another date.

• Exam fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

• The e-TEF is an online examination; therefore, prior knowledge of computer usage is mandatory.

• e-TEF results are valid for two years from the date of declaration.

• All test components must be taken on the same day for the certificate to be recognized by Canadian authorities.

• AF Hyderabad reserves the right to cancel the examination under exceptional circumstances.

• We suggest you have a minimum of B2 level (660 hours) of French for giving this exam.
• For further information about levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, etc.), please check our General French Course structure.
• If you have recently given the exam and would like to appear again for a better score, then you need to wait a period of 30days between the two exams.
• Candidates are advised to carefully review the rules and regulations provided by CCI Paris.

The attestation of results of the e-tef Canada:

• is usually delivered 3 to 4 weeks after the test by e-mail.
• is not a diploma and cannot be considered as proof of success.
• The results will be made available in the form of an e-version of the certificate, no hard copy will be made available.
• shows the distribution of scores obtained in each of the sections, offers detailed comments on the skills, and places your level on a scale from <A1** (Beginner) to C2** (Mastery).  For more info, visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
• is valid for 2 years.

• E-tef Canada, 4 sections are compulsory, total fees is INR 26000 ( Incl. 18% GST) 
• The fees might be subject to change without prior notice
• No refund/transfer of fee is possible once the registrations have been closed.

The Alliance Française of Hyderabad will send you by e-mail a confirmation of registration within 2days and a hall ticket (Convocation) 7days prior to exam date. Applications of registration after the deadline will not be accepted.

○ The Alliance Française of Hyderabad does not organize any specific preparation courses for e-tef Canada General French classes are strongly recommended.
