‘CREATE YOUR OWN COMIC’

The Hyderabad Graphic Novel is a unique city-centric project bringing alive the legends & glory of Hyderabad through the medium of graphic storytelling. The “HGN” has been created by Jai Undurti & Jasraman Grewal with the help of the NGO Yugantar.

Jai Undurti is the co-creator of the Hyderabad Graphic Novel. He comes from a journalism background, and has an interest in popular culture, travel and leisure.
Jasraman Grewal comes from a philosophy background. He is a keen photographer and was a national-level shooter.

‘HYDERABAD GRAPHIC NOVEL’
H.G.N
Inauguration on : Friday, 20th September, at 6:30pm
with the Team of HGN
On view till : 28th September, during opening hours
Hyderabad is several cities in one, cities which are contradictory and complementary, cities which extend and exist in dislocations of space and time.
The Hyderabad Graphic Novel Project is part of Yugantar’s ‘Archive Hyderabad’ initiative. Our attempt is to capture the stories and images of Hyderabad – to approximate a ‘Memory of the City’ and create an archival clearing house.
The Hyderabad Graphic Novel project is the brainchild of Jasraman Grewal and Jai Undurti of Yugantar, a Hyderabad-based NGO.
In our concept note, we called Hyderabad a city in argument with itself. We hope to produce a narrative incorporating lived, fictitious, and historical stories about and from the city of Hyderabad.
The first of it’s series ”Late Cretaceous Incident” have been translated into French by Abhirami Krishnamoorthi and are on display at Alliance Française till 28 Sept. The English version will be placed alongside as well.
