HAKANAI

by Adrien M & Claire B

7:30pm at Hyderabad International Convention Center – Hall 2

In the frame of Bonjour India Festival, Hyderabad is proud to host “Hakanaï” created by Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne.

Linking digital and performing arts, Adrien M and Claire B design intimate artistic experiences with the human being placed at the heart of technology, and the body as the center point of images. With customized digital tools, the company’s productions delve into the idea of an embodied digital: mobile, handcrafted, ephemeral and sensitive.

For the first time, Indian dancer Priyabrata Panigrahi will be trained by French dancer Virginie Barjonnet to interpret this choreography.

In Japanese, « Hakanaï » means delicate, transient. It is written as the conjunction of two elements, one designating the man and one representing the dream. This symbolic convergence is the baseline of the 40-minute choreographic performance, in which a solo dancer is shrouded by the immersive environment of a moving cube.
Through projections of images on the dancing bodies, this piece explores the fleeting nature of dreams and the fugacity of life. It creates a poetic space between dream and reality, in the form of haikus.

The images screened are live-animated by physical models of movements, and pulsed by the rhythm of a musical creation live-performed as well.
After the performance, the audience is invited to enter the digital set-up.

Duration: 40min
